Officially started test runs of its Series L0 (L-zero) improved version Superconducting Maglev (SCMAGLEV) train vehicles.

Central Japan Railway Company (JRCentral) has officially started test runs of its Series L0 (L-zero) improved version Superconducting Maglev (SCMAGLEV) train vehicles.

The latest version of the Series L0 improves on the existing L0 by reducing air resistance, power consumption, and noise emissions.

On August 19, JR Central conducted a test run of the new Series L0 that topped out at 342 miles per hour! A day later, running distances were extended for the new vehicles to verify function and stability of ground facilities and on-board equipment.
